{Copycat} Sonic Ocean Water

Did y'all know it gets hot in Arizona?! Ummmm, yeah! I have heard the rumors .... and I have also heard that I haven't seen anything yet! We've been here for about 2 months now and I am loving it here - however, I am wondering how hot it really gets. We've been in the triple digits for about a week now ... and sure, it's hot - I expect that I guess ... we are in Arizona, after all! I am used to having high humidity and there is very little here. I can still breathe when I walk outside! Out on the East coast, the humidity would literally make it miserable to go outside! I think the thing that is the hardest for me is there is no shade ... or clouds .... or "real trees". LOL. Being so fair-skinned and a red-head, that sun will have me redder than a beet in less than 10 minutes! No joke .... If I thought y'all wouldn't laugh at me, I would post a picture of 10 minutes in the sun! Maybe I will somewhere down the road?!

We needed a cold refreshing drink today .... the temperature? A mere 106°F outside. I'm starting to understand why people don't come out of their houses until after dinner around here or I see them out before 9 am. This drink is cool and refreshing - and very similar to the restaurant version. You can have it mixed up and be sipping on it in less than 5 minutes!

3 tbsp. water
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. coconut extract
3 drops of blue food coloring
2 cans (12 oz. each) Sprite soda

  11. This sounds fabulous! I am also thinking of it terms of a drink to float gummy sharks for my grandkids! Just checked your pins and my goodness! You don't leave a single thing uncovered! If every cooking/baking source in the world had to disappear except one - I'd say your resource should be the only one to stay!
Here in Michigan it's 70 and cloudy - would kill to have that AZ heat!

  29. Ok...I'll stop complaining about the heat now. While our heat indices have reached 100+, our temps haven't. And certainly not for a week. Yikes. I'd be drinking this by the gallon. Although, truthfully I have never had Sonic's Ocean Water. I used to be hooked on their blackberry iced tea until they stopped making it :-(
    Thank you for linking, Jamie!
