Steak Fingers are the epitome of down-home comfort food. Dip them in Country Gravy, Ranch dressing, or in the condiment of your choice!

Steak Fingers
My family isn’t really a beef-eating family. Truthfully, we prefer chicken most of the time. But on occasion, we do enjoy some sort of beef dish—and this recipe for steak fingers is one of our favorites! Y’all, I’m not sure why, but steak fingers remind me of diner food, in a good way. Maybe as a child, I had this at a diner? Maybe because it’s a delicious and extremely easy comfort meal? I really don’t know and I don’t know why I associate the two!
Basically, steak fingers are browned, breaded pieces of steak—kind of like chicken fingers, but fantastic when you’re craving steaks and burgers. (And if you’re a carnivore … you know you get that craving from time to time. Or every week even!!) They’re an instant winner with almost everyone I meet, and great for picky kids, too! ? If you’re wondering about side dishes or toppings … my family enjoys steak fingers with mashed potatoes and a pat of butter and some sort of (usually green) veggie, or with french fries. Again, I’m not sure why that combo – maybe it’s just a habit. No matter, though, these are good! Serve them with whatever you like! Since they’re so simple, you’ll definitely have time to throw together a wonderful side-dish to go along with them. I’ll talk about that later!

- What about toppings or sauces?
White gravy (aka cream gravy or country gravy) or fancy mustards pair well with steak fingers! Ranch dressing is an option. If your kiddos are picky, let them have what they want with it, though … like if they want ketchup … just go with it. You know how kids can be. Ha! ?
- Can you use other meats?
I’ve seen that this recipe works with pork steak and cube steak. Also – if you’re a fan – venison, and elk! Go ahead and try it!! I haven’t attempted it myself … but it’s probably all amazing. If you do use a different kind of meat, please let me know in the comments, because I’d love to hear about it.

Instructions

Notes
- Cube steak is a great substitute for the boneless beef top round steak.
- If you want a bit of spice, you can add Cajun seasoning to the recipe instead of lemon pepper. I think the lemon pepper gives it a fantastic zing all by itself, though!!

Oh my goodness! What memories you brought up with these! My dad made us finger steaks at least twice month growing up! I haven't had them in decades! Going on the menu for sure 🙂 Thanks Jamie!
The lemon pepper seems a nice addition! Pinned, this is something the family will love {especially Dimitri ..lol} Thanks for sharing, Jamie !
This is better than my plain old salt and peppered steak. Thank you for sharing.
We may have met by chance…but we become friends by choice.

I had never heard of Steak Fingers in my life, only Chicken Fingers. I make Schnitzel from pounded steak, which we love at our house, and we do love us that Lemon Pepper, but have only used on chicken or fish.
Steak fingers always make me think of Dairy Queen. When I make them mashed potatoes are also a must, which is strange since DQ doesn't have mashed potatoes, lol.
Hi, Jamie! I was chatting with Evelyn after being out of blogging commission for two weeks time and she told me about you guys' new Sunday hop! Stopping by to follow you via GFC and ended up drooling over the Steak Fingers! I saw them and immediately thought "country cooking." LOL
Can't wait to link up with y'all Sunday! Would love to have you swing by my blog if you get a chance!

We are not big beef eaters but this looks like it would be enjoyed by all. Can't wait to try it.
I haven't had steak fingers in years. Like since I was a child! You made me smile serving the same thing with them every time. We're like that with certain dishes too…and I don't know why! Thank you for coming by this week. I was kind of afraid people would forget since I took some time off.
My hubby would love these! He's a chicken-fried steak fan, and these look pretty similar. Yum! Thanks for sharing at OneCreativeMommy.com.
