Peach Mango Ice Cream

This three ingredient, Peach Mango Ice Cream, comes together in a hurry with the help of Kool-Aid Fruit Drink. It’s a great way to keep cool this summer after enjoying your favorite outdoor activities! Thanks to the many Kool-Aid products, it’s easy to #KoolOff this summer!

Kids playing basketball in the summer climate.

Being a mom with 3 teenagers can be exhausting sometimes. I never seem to know if I’m coming or going most days.

I grew up drinking Kool-Aid …. Lemon Lime was (and still is!) my favorite! Did you have a favorite flavor growing up? Green Kool-Aid was a necessary part of my Sunday morning breakfast – thanks to my Aunt Tina! Hehe!! Now that I’m a mom, I enjoy making similar memories with my kids and Kool-Aid.

The other day, I was shopping at my local Wal-Mart and spotted the new 96 oz. Ready-To-Drink Kool-Aid bottles – they’re on the same aisle as the juice and other fruit drinks! I love the new convenient size of this family-favorite beverage! I picked up the Tropical Punch because it’s my boys’ favorite!

My boys are pretty active – they love playing sports and physical activity in general. They are boys after all. One of the things I am very conscious of, is making sure they stay hydrated in the Arizona heat! Summer can be brutally hot in the Sonoran Desert, but that doesn’t stop them from doing the things they love!

Children playing at the water park in the summertime.

Like playing basketball or football. Or going for a run around the neighborhood, just for “the fun of it.”

Kids getting dumped on with water at the water park in the summertime.

One of the ways they stay cool is by throwing the football at the splash pad …. or by letting the buckets of water dump on them. 🙂

Two boys playing basketball in the summertime.

Or doing the Riverdance while playing basketball ….. LOL!! Ok, not really …. but that’s what it looks like Elijah’s doing!!

Stay cool with Kool-Aid

The other way they stay cool and hydrated is with Kool-Aid! It makes water fun! And flavorful. And not just “boring water” as my kids like to tell me. It’s a lot easier to convince them to drink up when it’s something they love!

While I was at Walmart, I picked up this Peach Mango Kool-Aid drink mix too – I thought it would be fun to make an ice cream for the boys after their day in the sun. With only three ingredients, it couldn’t be easier! I can’t wait to try this with the canister of Grape Kool-Aid drink mix next!!

Have you seen the new 96 oz. Ready-To-Drinks bottle of Kool-Aid at your local Wal-Mart? Of the three flavors – which one would you like to try first … Tropical Punch, Grape or Watermelon? Also, just an FYI:

Ingredients

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 package vanilla-flavored instant pudding mix, 3.4 oz.
  • ½ cup any flavor Kool-Aid® drink mix, from a 19 oz. canister

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the milk, pudding mix, and Kool-Aid® drink mix. Mix well. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and cover.
  • Freeze.
  • For easier scooping, remove ice cream from the freezer about 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • The best part is using new flavors here for a fresh treat each time!
  • Make sure you are using the drink mix that has added sugar, not the envelopes of koolaid only.

That is amazingly simple! I know I keep saying it, but this year I'm getting an ice cream maker. There's just too much goodness to be made not to have one. Thanks for sharing on Foodie Friday
