  • 8 large lollipop sticks
  • 24 large marshmallows
  • 1 bag dark melting chocolate, (10 ounces)
  • 1 cup crushed peppermints

Instructions

  • Melt the caramel bits according to the package directions. Let the caramel cool slightly so it thickens a bit.

  • Dip one end of each lollipop stick in about 1 inch of water. Skewer 3 marshmallows onto each stick, starting at the damp end.
8 large lollipop sticks, 24 large marshmallows
  • Dip each marshmallow wand into the melted caramel. Coat well and shake off the excess. Set the wands on parchment paper and let the caramel harden for about 15 minutes.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a medium saucepan over low heat until smooth. Keep it warm.
    1 bag dark melting chocolate
  • Place the crushed peppermint in a shallow bowl.
    1 cup crushed peppermints
  • Dip each caramel coated wand into the melted chocolate and tap gently to remove extra chocolate. Roll the wands in the crushed peppermint and place them on clean parchment.
  • Let the wands set at room temperature for about 15 minutes or until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

🥡 STORAGE

  • Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
  • Store flat so the coating does not crack.

♨️ REHEATING

  • Warm at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften the caramel slightly.
  • Do not heat in the microwave, or the coating will melt.

❄️ FREEZING

  • Freeze on a baking sheet until firm, then transfer to a freezer-safe container and store for up to 2 months.
  • Thaw in the refrigerator for the best texture.

💡 TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

  • Shake Extra – remove extra caramel and chocolate so the coating sets evenly.
  • Crush Fine – finely crushed peppermint sticks better to the chocolate.
  • Set Fully – let each layer cool completely before dipping again.

🍳 ALTERNATE COOKING METHODS

  • Microwave chocolate – melt in short bursts and stir often.
  • Double boiler – melt chocolate gently to avoid scorching.

♻️ LEFTOVERS

  • Chop Leftovers – stir chopped wands into brownies or cookie dough.
  • Crumble Toppings – crumble pieces over hot cocoa or ice cream.

📝 NOTES

  • Use holiday colored sprinkles to mix up the look.
  • Try dipping only half of each wand for a fun half-and-half style.
  • Package in clear bags for gifting.
  • Chill briefly if needed, but avoid leaving them in the refrigerator for long periods, or condensation may soften the peppermint.
  • Add colored melting wafers for a bright holiday look.
  • Kids can help crush the peppermint for a fun kitchen activity.
