Smores Dip FAQs

➡️ How should I store my S’mores Dip?

In the unlikely event that you have dip leftover, transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for 2 to 3 days. Store any dipping ingredients separately. You can reheat the dip in the oven at 400 degrees F for 3-4 minutes. You may want to consider topping with new marshmallows if you want to reheat, as the marshmallows will lose their crunchy top when not eaten fresh.

➡️ What can I use to eat this S’mores Dip?

Graham crackers are a great start, but if you’re looking for some other great ideas, I have a few. This dip is versatile and delicious, so it goes well with almost anything! I recommend trying pretzels of various shapes, crunchy cookies, or even mini popcorn balls. It also tastes great with bananas, apples, pears, or figs. I’m particularly fond of fresh strawberries! Rice Krispy treats cut into shapes for special occasions can class up the dip as well. You can even use dried fruits like apricots, pineapple, or mangos. Finally, if you are feeling adventurous, try dipping some crispy bacon strips!

➡️ Do I have to use a cast-iron skillet?

Nope. You can use an 8-inch x 8-inch or 9-in. x 9-inch baking dish instead. If you want to double it, try using a 9-inch x 13-inch baking dish.

Recipe Tips

  1. Nutella: You could use another hazelnut spread if desired. Peanut butter would also be a great replacement.
  2. Be sure to add just a little sprinkle of salt to offset some of the sweetness. This dish is VERY sweet, so the salt is vital to balance out the sweet parts.
  3. I coarsely crumbled the graham crackers for the dip with my hands to make sure there was still a little bit of a crunch. Make sure not to make them too big so that they are still easy to scoop up.
  4. When baking, keep a close eye on the marshmallows, so they don’t burn!

Ingredients

  • 2 bars chocolate bars, 1.55 oz. each
  • ¼ cup Nutella
  • 1 rectangle graham cracker , coarsely crumbled (I used my hands for this)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 15 full-sized marshmallows, cut in half
  • Optional dippers: graham crackers, strawberries, vanilla wafers, biscoff cookies

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Spray an 8-inch cast-iron pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Break the chocolate bar into individually sized squares and lay them on the bottom of the cast iron pan.
  • Drop spoonfuls of Nutella evenly over the chocolate and sprinkle on the graham crackers and salt.
  • Cut the marshmallows in half and lay the marshmallow sticky side down in the pan.
  • Bake in the oven for 3 minutes.
  • Turn your oven on the broil setting, and broil the marshmallows for 1-2 minutes. Keep a close eye because they can burn quickly. Remove the pans as soon as the marshmallows are evenly toasted, golden brown, and beginning to blister.
  • Serve immediately with your cookie of choice optional. Dip carefully because the pan will still be very hot. Best when served fresh.

Notes

  • Nutella: You could use another hazelnut spread if desired. Peanut butter would also be a great replacement.
  • Be sure to add just a little sprinkle of salt to offset some of the sweetness. This dish is VERY sweet, so the salt is vital to balance out the sweet parts.
  • I coarsely crumbled the graham crackers for the dip with my hands to make sure there was still a little bit of a crunch. Make sure not to make them too big so that they are still easy to scoop up.
  • When baking, keep a close eye on the marshmallows, so they don’t burn!
