Ingredients 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 ½ cups V8 vegetable juice
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, (14.5 ounces)
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot or dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbs with a wooden spoon.
