Y’all, I am trying to be better about my breakfast choices. Some of you already know that my breakfast usually consists of copious amounts of coffee and either toast, a bagel, or an English muffin. Almost every. Single. Day. I love coffee and carbs, what can I say?! 😆
I am trying to get in the habit of having something a little better and more substantial health-wise, though. My current breakfast love is this banana berry smoothie. It’s so delicious!
I buy the big bags of mixed berries at my local Walmart and keep them in the freezer for this easy snack or breakfast idea.
Although I haven’t completely given up my coffee and toast, these smoothies are a nice change of pace. They’re also quick and easy – which means they’re great for busy mornings! I hope your family enjoys them!

Banana Berry Smoothie: Ingredients & Substitutions
For this Banana Berry Smoothie recipe, you will need …
Ingredients
- mixed berries – Frozen. As I said above, I get the big bags at Walmart! These will not only form the basis for your smoothie, but also act as a garnish on top after it’s all done if you want!!
- milk – your favorite kind. Use regular, soy, rice, oat, or almond! Just note that whatever milk you use will alter the consistency a little bit. Oat milk for example makes for a thicker smoothie than most other dairy-free milk, I’ve noticed.
- banana – Peeled. This is the “banana” part of the banana berry smoothie!
- strawberry banana yogurt: This enhances that banana berry flavor! Of course, you can use whatever flavor you want in this smoothie. Or any kind of yogurt. Vegan yogurt and Greek yogurt in particular are tasty in this recipe!

Blueberry Banana Strawberry Smoothie: FAQs
Either is fine! Frozen bananas are a great way to save bananas that are starting to ripen a little too much if you can’t use them immediately.
Only if you want a super cold smoothie, so it’s up to you! The frozen berries (and the frozen banana, if you use one) should be more than enough to make a nice, cool treat.
I recommend drinking it immediately after making it, honestly. It’ll start to lose its flavor otherwise.
Nope!! You can use fruit juice or some water. I just like the consistency that the milk brings!
About two! You’ll have to make multiple batches if everyone in the family wants one!
Just about 7-8 minutes. Though I’m not sure if there are any smoothies out there that would take longer than that – maybe some five-star gourmet smoothie? 😉
If you want to experiment a little with your berry yogurt smoothie, you can try honey (natural sweetness!!) and spinach (it doesn’t change the flavor at all and adds some nutrition). Both are super tasty, and one is a great way to get veggies into the kids.
Recipe Notes
- For a thicker and colder smoothie, you can add a few ice cubes to the mixture.
- This recipe yields two smaller or one large smoothie.
