Notes

♨️ REHEATING

  • No reheating needed for this recipe.
  • Let refrigerated muddy buddies sit at room temperature for a few minutes for a softer texture.

❄️ FREEZING

  • Freeze in an airtight container or freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
  • Enjoy straight from the freezer for a crisp, firm bite.
  • Thaw in the refrigerator for a softer texture.

💡 TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

  • Use high-quality white chocolate chips so the coating melts smoothly.
  • Microwave the white chocolate in short bursts, stirring well between bursts to avoid scorching.
  • Fold gently so the cereal stays crisp and does not break apart.
  • Let the mixture cool completely before storing to prevent it from becoming sticky.
  • Work quickly once the white chocolate is melted so the coating goes on evenly.

🍳 ALTERNATE COOKING METHODS

  • Use the microwave as directed for the quickest method.
  • Melt the white chocolate in a heat-safe bowl set over a pot of barely simmering water if you prefer a stovetop method.
  • Coat the cereal in batches in a large zip-top bag for easier mixing and less mess.

♻️ LEFTOVERS

  • Use leftovers as ice cream toppings.
  • Sprinkle over yogurt for a sweet snack.
  • Mix with pretzels, raisins, shredded coconut, or dried pineapple for a fun trail mix.
  • Package into small bags or containers for lunchboxes or grab-and-go snacks.

📝 NOTES

  • Cheaper white chocolate chips can seize or melt poorly because they often contain less cocoa butter.
  • If the melted white chocolate seems too thick, stir in 1 teaspoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening at a time until smooth.
  • Seasonal sprinkles make this extra cute for Easter or spring parties.
  • This recipe is great for gifting, snack boards, and dessert tables.
