When I think of Fall, I think of comfort food. How about you?! I am often reminded of my gramma’s kitchen and all the wonderful things she made with love. I loved the food that came out of her kitchen. The many great memories – from the wonderful smells of the food, to watching the way my gramma cooked without measuring, to tasting dishes that were always seasoned to perfection … and many times, getting chased out of the kitchen because it became our playground while she was cooking! 😉 I can only hope that one of these days, my own children and grandchildren will look at me and my kitchen with those same fond memories. Do you have a favorite childhood food? One of my favorites would definitely be goulash!

Although I’m sure this is different from Gramma’s version, it’s still so comforting and delicious! My family really enjoys this One Pot Goulash – and I love that it’s an easy, one pot meal! That means less dishes to clean later. What cook doesn’t love that? Plus, this recipe makes a lot! It’ll almost feed an army of hungry people!

We usually enjoy this dish with a side salad and garlic bread! I hope your family enjoys this One Pot Goulash as much as mine!

I haven't had goulash in ages! Your version looks great! I'll have to pin it. It's a perfect cold weather meal. 🙂
I love that you don't cook the pasta separately. I think I would use rice as well and maybe precook it just a bit to make sure it was done when everything else was ready. The photos are amazing. Enjoy your SITS Day.
This is a great recipe. Love Goulash type dishes, but next time I'm going to try make this with rice instead macaroni (I like macaroni, but hubby likes rice) should cooked the rice first or put it in raw like the macaroni Is there anyone that help out there? Thanks =^..^=
Love Goulash type dishes and this one is great. Next time I going to try it with rice instead of macaroni, but should I cook the rice first or just put it in like macaroni ( I love macaroni, but hubby likes rice) any help out there
Thanks
I think it would be great with rice – you may need to adjust the liquid amounts to get the rice to cook properly! I would love to hear how it turns out! 🙂
Perfect fall dinner, and seems super simple! 🙂 Pinning to my Fall Main Dish Board!

When I was younger, dad would make this one-pot dish with ground beef and macaroni and stirred in random condiments from the refrigerator, like ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, etc. I always loved it; it was comforting and filling. I never knew what it was called, though, until many years later when I finally asked him – he said he didn't really know, he just threw some stuff together, but it reminded him of goulash! Haha! Many years later, again, I asked him for a recipe, but he didn't really have one; he just jotted down some measurements of this and that. I never actually made the recipe and eventually lost it. I recently found a goulash recipe on FoodGawker and made it, but it was kind of so-so and didn't really strike upon any memories I had of my dad's goulash. Then I found your recipe and made it last night. Now this one really brought back those memories; dad did add a few extra condiments, and he didn't use green peppers or mushrooms. But I followed your recipe to a tee and loved it! Thanks for bringing back that memory; I'll definitely be making this again (and again, and again……!)! 🙂
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Jamieanne! I'm also so glad I could help you recreate something that has so many great memories attached! This just made my day!! 🙂
