Homemade Cajun-Creole Seasoning

Don’t you hate it when you go to make a recipe and you find out you’re missing a crucial ingredient? The other day, I went to make my Jambalaya recipe and realized I was out of Cajun seasoning! There just isn’t a substitute – and I didn’t want to run to the store for one thing. Luckily, I had a recipe in my recipe box from years ago on how to make Homemade Cajun-Creole Seasoning!

How do I use Cajun Seasoning?

Cajun Seasoning is one of those things I use quite frequently. I love to use it in Cajun dishes as well as in meatloaf, on burgers, on french fries, on baked salmon, sprinkled on wings,  – and I make a killer Cajun Alfredo that I hope to share with y’all someday soon! I even sprinkle it on veggies occasionally – it’s awesome on cooked green beans! ? It’s a great way to add a savory, zesty, spicy kick to any dish!

What is the difference between Cajun and Creole seasoning?

For all intents and purposes, the two are quite interchangeable with the biggest difference being the addition of oregano to Creole seasoning. This recipe uses oregano – and if you prefer to omit it for a true Cajun seasoning, you can.
