❓ FAQs

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the shots up to 3 days in advance. Keep them covered in the fridge until ready to serve.

Do I have to use caramel vodka?

No, but caramel vodka gives these shots their signature flavor. Vanilla vodka or apple vodka both work as substitutes.

Can I freeze jello shots?

No, freezing changes the texture. These should always be kept in the refrigerator.

Are these strong?

They have a nice balance. If you want them stronger, add a little more vodka. If you prefer them lighter, reduce the vodka slightly.

What size cups should I use?

This caramel apple jello shots recipe is designed for 2-ounce plastic shot cups. If you use larger or smaller cups, adjust the yield accordingly.

Do I need to spray the cups with cooking spray?

No, spraying isn’t necessary since the jello mixture sets smoothly and comes out easily with a spoon.

Can I make these non-alcoholic?

Yes! Replace the caramel vodka with cold water or apple juice for a kid-friendly version.

How do I keep the garnishes from melting?

Wait until just before serving to add whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or apple slices. That way, they look and taste fresh.

Can I make layered jello shots with this recipe?

Absolutely! You can create a bottom layer of green apple jello with vodka, let it set, and then top with a layer of caramel-flavored pudding or a cream-based jello mix for a two-tone look.

Are there other caramel apple cocktail recipes I can try?

Yes! If you enjoy these jello shots, you might also like caramel apple martinis or spiked apple cider. Both are easy caramel apple cocktail recipes that pair perfectly with fall gatherings.

What’s the difference between these shots and other alcoholic caramel apple drinks?

Most alcoholic caramel apple drinks are served in a glass, but these jello shots turn the classic flavors into a fun, portable party treat.
