Bacon Crackers: FAQs

➡️ How to store Bacon Crackers?

In a ziptop bag or airtight container in the refrigerator.

➡️ How long are Bacon Crackers good for?

They never last very long whenever we share them! But should you need to store them, they are okay at room temperature for a couple of hours. You can refrigerate them for longer – about 3 days. You can heat them up slightly again in the oven if you want.

➡️ Can these be made ahead and frozen?

Actually, yes! Prepare the recipe as directed and allow the crackers to cool completely. Place the crackers in a large ziptop bag or airtight freezer-safe container for up to one month. When ready to serve, thaw the crackers and place them on a baking sheet in a 250F oven for about 10-15 minutes or until heated through.

➡️ Can I use a different kind of cracker?

Sure! This recipe calls for club crackers, but any buttery kind of cracker would be great in this recipe.

  1. LilQuahog says:

Made these as an appetizer for Friendsgiving and did 3 different batches. One with the recipe as is, another with adding cayenne pepper, and the third batch was made as is but I drizzled a little bit of milk chocolate over them. None of them latest long enough to get an idea of which was the favorite. “Required” to make them again for our Christmaa Eve get together

  2. Deanna says:

I wanted to cut down on the fat, so i partially cooked the bacon just a bit to drain some of the fat.
They are still addictive and delicious, but the bacon slides off the cracker! If I hadn’t precooked the bacon, would the fat hold it onto the cracker? Do I need more brown sugar? What makes it stick to the cracker?

    1. Jamie says:

Yes, the combination of fat from the bacon and sugar melting is what holds it onto the cracker.

  3. Susan says:

I used the roasting pan that came with my stove. It has a top with holes that drains grease and allows heat to flow both under and over the crackers. I drizzled honey instead of brown sugar. They turned out great, and we’re a great appetizer for our Thanksgiving celebration. B

  4. Linda says:

Can you make these in an air fryer?

    1. Jamie says:

Yes! You may need to adjust the cooking time/temp depending on your air fryer.

  5. Monika says:

Looms yummy! Would this work with turkey bacon?

    1. Monika says:

      *looks not looms…lol

  6. Barbara says:

So the bacon does not fall off the cracker? When you put in storage container

    1. Jamie says:

Nope, it should stick to the cracker.

  7. Christopher Roth says:

These are amazing. I do a little cayenne powder espresso powder in with the brown sugar

  8. Lin says:

Can these be topped with cheese? And can they be cooked in an air fryer.

    1. Jamie says:

I’ve had these with Parmesan and CHeddar cheese, too! And yes, they can go in the air fryer. You may need to adjust the time and temp depending on how fast your air fryer cooks.

  9. Florida Cuisine says:

These are easy to make and a huge crowd pleaser. Gone within minutes of serving them. I did not add brown sugar and still yummy.

  10. LINDA BOLBY says:

I think these would be even more delicious with some hot pepper jelly on them.
