Bacon Crackers: FAQs

➡️ How to store Bacon Crackers?

In a ziptop bag or airtight container in the refrigerator.

➡️ How long are Bacon Crackers good for?

They never last very long whenever we share them! But should you need to store them, they are okay at room temperature for a couple of hours. You can refrigerate them for longer – about 3 days. You can heat them up slightly again in the oven if you want.

➡️ Can these be made ahead and frozen?

Actually, yes! Prepare the recipe as directed and allow the crackers to cool completely. Place the crackers in a large ziptop bag or airtight freezer-safe container for up to one month. When ready to serve, thaw the crackers and place them on a baking sheet in a 250F oven for about 10-15 minutes or until heated through.

➡️ Can I use a different kind of cracker?

Sure! This recipe calls for club crackers, but any buttery kind of cracker would be great in this recipe.

I need an appetizer for my small wedding that doesn’t require refrigeration. If I made these on the Friday, then stored them air-tight, do you believe they’re ok to serve the next afternoon?

    1. Jamie says:

Unfortunately, they really do need to be refrigerated. They can be left out at room temperature for about two hours.

    2. Redneck Ingenuity says:

Just pack them in a cooler with ice(or frozen bottles of water so that you have an ice cold drink as you set up)

  4. Cathy says:

I want to do them in the af. Can you tell me what time and temp

  5. Bettie Roberts says:

  6. Judy Huset says:

I, too, was wondering if I rerad it right…….raw bacon and it gets done ? am trying it later

    1. Jamie says:

Yes, raw bacon. I hope you enjoy the recipe. 😊

  7. Teresa says:

Do you use regular or thick sliced bacon? Looks delicious..

    1. Jamie says:

      I used regular bacon.

      1. Marcy says:

We are going to tailgate for football. Anyone try this on the grill???

        1. Jamie says:

I have never tried it. I would be curious if it would work. If you try it, please let me know how it went.

  8. Lynn Cooke says:

The only silly questions are the ones we don’t ask, right? So, the bacon is raw and get cooked in the hour it’s in the oven… double-checking that it doesn’t need to be cooked first.

    1. Jamie says:

Yes, it is raw and gets baked on the crackers with the brown sugar.

  9. Paula Cleaves says:

These sound yummy I will have to try them.

  10. Cory says:

These look delicious! It says cooling rack over baking sheet. I take that to mean they need to be suspended so sugar and grease drips away? My cooling racks are coated. Any other method I could use?

    1. Jamie says:

I have never tried any other way, but you could try crumpled up aluminum foil ropes. Take a few long sheets of foil and crumple them into ropes so the grease and sugar still have a way to drain away and the crackers are above. I hope that helps! If you try it this way, I would love to know if it works since I’ve never actually tried it.

      1. Cathy Burnham Martin says:

You can also place a rimmed baking sheet on a lower oven rack and place the prepared crackers on an oven rack just above the one with the pan.

    2. Patty says:

I use my coated cooling rack
