Spinach ... Strawberries ... Bacon ... Feta ... Balsamic Vinegar and honey. Did you catch that - strawberries on a pizza - and it's not a dessert pizza?! I will admit, I was a little skeptical at first ..... but it was so good! I mean - so good! My kiddos *loved* it! Oh, and the bacon .... you know bacon or chocolate makes everything better .... chocolate would have been weird on this pizza - but the bacon made it divine! ;) I saw this over at Bakeaholic Mama - I changed the name - 1. to make it shorter and 2. this pizza just tastes like summertime! Call it what you want - Summer Breeze Pizza ... Spinach Strawberry Bacon Feta Balsamic Honey Pizza .... or just plain good!
Summer Breeze Pizza
Slightly adapted from Bakeaholic Mama
Yield - 1 large pizza (8-10 slices)
1 Pizza Dough recipe
Drizzle of olive oil
Fresh Spinach
Strawberries
½ lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ cup crumbled Feta cheese
Balsamic vinegar
Honey
Prepare pizza dough according to recipe directions.
Preheat oven to 450° F. Grease a pizza pan. Pat dough into pan. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 10 minutes. Top with desired amount of spinach and strawberries. Top with bacon and Feta cheese. Drizzle balsamic vinegar and honey over the top. Bake 15-17 minutes or until the pizza is golden. Serve with additional balsamic and honey, if desired. Serve hot!
Look at all the yummy toppings ...
