But sometimes you don’t want to be out of the ordinary. Sometimes you just want the meal you know and love. No judgment. I get that way too. (For instance, who doesn’t love plain old chocolate chip cookies or vanilla ice cream in a bowl?) That’s completely fine … and what we’re making here today … a classic coleslaw dressing! You’ll recognize the flavor and the ingredients instantly.
What I can say…homemade is always better than store-bought. That’s an opinion I’ll always have when it comes to food! You can source the ingredients if that’s important to you, tinker things for diet needs, plus homemade is always magically better tasting, I swear. And this coleslaw dressing recipe is leagues and leagues better than the mixes at the store, plus it’s honestly just as easy to make. Try it out, and you’ll understand where I’m coming from!

Coleslaw Dressing recipe
- mayonnaise
- granulated sugar
- lemon juice
- distilled vinegar
- salt
- ground black pepper
Dietary Notes
Like I said in my full coleslaw recipe, depending on the brand of mayonnaise you use, this recipe should be both gluten-free and dairy-free. Remember that mayonnaise generally has eggs in it, though!

How to make Coleslaw Dressing
This is a hard one…you all ready?!
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl or mason jar.
- Whisk together (or shake).
- Store in a refrigerator until ready to use.

I love this coleslaw dressing recipe. I make a similar dressing. I don’t use lemon juice I use apple cider vinegar. But, I’m going to try your recipe. I think it will be better then mine.
