I’m one of those people who love to try new things. So much in fact, that we rarely have the exact same thing twice. Traditionally, we usually have a few pie choices for Thanksgiving dinner, but a few years ago, I wanted to change things up with something a bit different.

I wanted something easy – and maybe similar to a pie. This Caramel Apple Galette was the perfect solution and was well received by our dinner guests. Enjoy!

Apple Galette: FAQs

➡️ What is a galette?

It’s a term used in French cuisine to designate various types of flat round or freeform pastry or bread that don’t require a tin (or pan).

➡️ How should you store this?

Although it is best eaten the day it is baked, should you have any leftovers, store them, loosely covered, at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can refrigerate them for a bit longer, 3-5 days.

➡️ Can this be frozen?

Yes! Place the baking sheet with the unbaked galette in the freezer for an hour; then, wrap the galette in plastic wrap, transfer it to a freezer bag or airtight container, label with date and freeze for up to one month. For even baking, thaw slightly (about 15 minutes) and increase baking time by about 5 minutes, if needed.
