Cream Cheese Frosting: FAQs

➡️ How long does this frosting last?

I would use it within 3-5 days.

➡️ Can you freeze this frosting?

Yes, you can! It’s good for up to 3 months. Be sure to thaw it overnight in the refrigerator before using it.

➡️ Can you leave it out at room temperature?

For an hour or two, yes! Any longer than that, it really needs to be chilled to prohibit bacteria from growing.

➡️ My frosting isn’t stiff enough … how do I fix it?

Add a bit more powdered sugar to reach the desired consistency.

➡️ Can I use food coloring to tint this?

Sure! I find gel-based food coloring easier to work with – and you won’t have to add as much!
