Ahh, a recipe that has variations … there’s nothing better! Especially a cookie recipe that has variations. If you want some customization options, try Reese’s pieces instead of M&Ms or caramel chips instead of chocolate chips. You can also include sprinkles in the batter if you want! I haven’t personally tried anything but the ingredients listed in the recipe, but it doesn’t hurt to experiment! Let me know about it in the comments.

  • Can you use crunchy or natural peanut butter instead of the creamy peanut butter?

You’re gonna want to stick with the creamy kind for this recipe! If you use any other kind you won’t get that soft and chewy texture that makes monster cookies so wonderful. In fact, natural peanut butter will make these cookies greasy, and you probably don’t want that!

  • Can you use salted butter instead of the unsalted butter + salt combination?

Yes!! It shouldn’t make a difference. Use whatever you can find and what you have on hand!

  • Can you freeze the dough?

It should last in the freezer for 3 months.

  • What about freezing the cookies after baking?

They’ll last in the freezer for 3 months too!
