Ditch the canned stuff and make this Strawberry Buttercream Frosting perfect with all kinds of cakes! With only three ingredients, it is sure to become a family favorite!
½cupfinely chopped fresh strawberrieswith their juices (plus more if needed)
additional powdered sugaronly if needed
Instructions
Place the butter in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until creamy. Stop the machine and add in the powdered sugar and strawberries. Beat on low until the mixture is creamy and well combined. If the frosting is too thick, add more strawberries until desired consistency is reached. If the frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached.
Use this buttercream frosting to frost your choice of cake, cupcakes, or other baked goods.
Notes
Since this recipe uses fresh fruit, you may need to adjust the ratio of fruit and powdered sugar for this recipe! If your frosting is too thin, add more powdered sugar. If your berries aren't lending very much juice, you may need a few additional berries.
Putting your decorated cake or cupcakes in the refrigerator after decorating will help the frosting set up better.
