These Sour Patch Grapes are sweet, tangy, and totally addicting. Coated in fruity gelatin powder and chilled until they have a candy-like crust, they’re the perfect make-ahead snack or party treat. Bonus: no baking required.
1-1/2 to 2poundsgreen grapesremoved from stems and rinsed
¼cupfresh lemon juicelime juice or water
Instructions
Empty each flavor of gelatin into its own large resealable zip-top bag.
Add the rinsed grapes to a large bowl. Pour the lemon juice (or lime juice or water) over the grapes and toss with clean hands until everything is evenly coated and damp.
Divide the grapes between the bags of gelatin. Seal the bags and shake until the grapes are fully coated in the powder.
Remove the grapes from the bags and place them on a clean plate or baking sheet. Discard the leftover powder.
Chill the coated grapes in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours, or until the gelatin sets into a candy-like crust.
Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Store in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 7 to 10 days, or freeze for up to 2 to 3 months.
Don’t dry the grapes after rinsing. You want them damp so the gelatin sticks well.
For a fun twist, try freezing the coated grapes for a frosty, chewy treat.
Use any gelatin flavor you love. You don’t need all five – even one or two is great.
Want less mess? Stick a toothpick in each grape, dip it in lemon juice, and then roll it in gelatin powder. Chill and eat them right off the toothpick, or pull them off to serve.
Great for birthday parties, holiday treats, or as part of an easy snack dish platter.
