In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Fold in the whipped topping and half of the crushed candy canes.
If desired, transfer to a serving bowl. Chill until serving time, at least 2 hours.
When ready to serve, top with the remaining crushed candy canes.
Notes
You can add a few drops of red food coloring to make a festive pink dip.
Add some mini chocolate chips for a mint-chip twist!
For the best taste and texture, allow the dip to sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Chocolate graham crackers, Chessman cookies, Milano Cookies, butter cookies, animal crackers, chocolate fudge creme-filled tubular-shaped wafer cookies, chocolate wafer cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate or vanilla creme-filled cookies, or other dippers. You can also use an assortment of fresh fruit as dippers, too!
