measuring cups and spoons
measuring cups and spoons
rubber spatula or wooden spoon
mixing bowl
baking sheets
Ingredients
Shortening or cooking spray
for coating the baking sheet
1
large
egg white
1
jar
honey-roasted peanuts
16 oz.
¼
cup
packed light brown sugar
1
tablespoon
sweet paprika
1
tablespoon
smoked paprika
1
teaspoon
kosher salt
1
teaspoon
garlic powder
½ - 1
teaspoon
cayenne pepper
½
teaspoon
mustard powder
¼ - ½
teaspoon
freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease a large baking sheet and set it aside.
Whisk the egg in a large bowl until frothy. Add the peanuts and stir well. Add the spices and mix well.
Transfer the peanuts to the baking sheet and arrange peanuts in a single layer. (A good jiggle usually does the trick!)
Bake for 25-30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
After the bake time, allow the peanuts to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Once cool, break up any clusters before storing the peanuts in an airtight container.
Notes
Feel free to play with or adjust the spices to your taste.
If your nuts are not fully crisp after the roasting time, that's okay! They'll crisp up as they cool off.
Don't skip the egg wash - that's what will make them oh so crunchy and addictively delicious as it holds in all of the flavors!
