Pour in the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup (if using), and then top with Topo Chico.
Gently stir the ingredients to combine and add a lime garnish, if desired.
Serve immediately.
Notes
This cocktail can be enjoyed with or without simple syrup. Without the simple syrup, it makes for an amazingly refreshing low-carb cocktail! You can also add your favorite artificial sweetener.
Try a frozen version of Ranch Water by blending the ingredients with ice until smooth. This creates a slushy-like texture that is perfect for hot summer days.
Ranch Water is a great choice for a pitcher drink and can easily be scaled up for a crowd, but the Topo Chico should be added just before serving to keep it fizzy.
When making Ranch Water, it is important to use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. Avoid using bottled lime juice if possible.
If you're not a fan of Topo Chico or other sparkling mineral waters, you can substitute soda water for a still version of the drink. Or, if you want to add some bubbles to your Ranch Water without using mineral water, you can also use club soda or flavored sparkling water as a substitute.
If you're serving Ranch Water at a party or event, consider setting up a DIY cocktail bar where guests can customize their own drinks with different fruits and herbs.
