15 Facebook Tips {that every blogger needs to know}

15 Facebook Tips {every blogger needs to know} #socialmedia #tips #facebook

Whether we like Facebook's algorithm or not, we have to acknowledge the huge potential this social media platform still carries in driving traffic to our sites. Often times, it's my number one or two traffic source! I know it is easy to become frustrated and want to throw in the towel, but remember this: What other social media platform has the potential reach of Facebook? None. From old to young people, from men to women, from rich to poor, across all demographics - who doesn't have a Facebook profile?! No other social media network can say that.

I know many bloggers talk about moving over to Google+, but the truth is, our readers just aren't there. One question I get asked a lot, is how I have managed to grow my Facebook page to what it is today. The truth is, there is no magic formula. It takes time and work. I am not an expert - but I do think I have learned a few things in almost two years of blogging! I also have some Facebook tips that may help you out!

Today, you can find me over at Plucky's Second Thought with 15 Facebook Tips that Every Blogger Needs to Know. See y'all over there!

I hope you enjoy! Shared at these fun parties!

  1. I agree with you on the Google+ comment about readers not being there. I have a handful on there because I also make YouTube videos and Google now requires a Google+ account to comment on videos. BUT, the engagement actual Google+ is null. It is all on FB/Pinterest/Instagram and a little on Twitter. Will Google+ ever take off? I'm off to check your guest post out. Thanks for the Tips! (found you on Tip Junkie)

  3. Jamie, I had neglected facebook because only 10% of people where seeing my posts. But when you shared one of my recipes I saw the power that facebook has bloggers. I am now working on building my facebook numbers. Thanks for inspiring me and giving me that shout out!
    Cheers,
    Stephanie

    1. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is :) Facebook has so much potential if you're willing to put up with some of the nonsense of it!

  5. I came over from In and Out of the Kitchen to check out what you had to say about Facebook. Linked on over and you sure shared lots of good stuff. I'm just starting out in this blogging world, and the hardest part for me it the not comparing one. I want to have the x.xK followers like so many of my favorite bloggers do. I'm just plugging along for now, doing my best, and trying to be consistent. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! HUGS

    1. Truth is, we've all done it ... it's hard not to :) It discourages us instead of encouraging. If we look back over our own journey, its easier to see how far we've come, how much we have accomplished and motivates us to keep going. Thank you so much for stopping by, Cheryl! {hugs}

  9. Jamie,
    I need this so bad. I have been so discourage with my facebook followers. I am going to work a lot harder at it this month and see what happens.
    When and what time does your social media hop start? I would love to participate. If you ever need a co-host, I would love to!
    I pray God continues to bless you and your great blog!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Diane! It is so easy to become frustrated with Facebook ..... it's definitely the least cooperative social media platform we have.

      The social media hop starts the first Sunday of every month at 6am EST and runs til the end of the month. It gives you plenty of time to come back and visit some of the other blogs, introduce yourself and visit them on social media!

      Here is this month's party if you'd like to link up :) http://www.lovebakesgoodcakes.com/2014/02/lets-get-social-sunday-february-2014.html
