Hello everyone!! My name is Sheena and I blog over at Hot Eats and Cool Reads! You can find a little of everything at my blog including recipes, book reviews and some restaurant reviews too! I live in central Minnesota and have been blogging for about 1 1/2 years now! I am super excited to be sharing with you today, here at Jamie's blog! She has such fantastic recipes and I love to see what she comes up with next!
Today I'm sharing with you, one of my all time favorite recipes, Cabbage Roll Casserole! It's pretty easy to throw together and is so full of flavor! A definite comfort food! I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
What you need:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion,diced
4 cloves garlic,minced
1 tsp dried basil
1- 14.5 oz can beef broth
1- 15 oz can tomato sauce
1- 11.5 oz can tomato juice
1 medium sized cabbage, chopped into small pieces
1 1/2 c. instant brown rice
salt and pepper
In a large saucepan cook ground beef, onion, garlic, basil, salt and pepper until beef is cooked through. Add broth, tomato sauce and tomato juice and remove from heat. In a 9x13 pan add chopped cabbage and rice. Pour ground beef mixture over rice and cabbage, stir to combine. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour, stirring a couple times throughout baking.
